In this session I’ll go over challenges and lessons learned from a multi-year project which oversaw splitting up a monolithic service living behind a number of our public facing APIs. Our result? Over a thousand customers migrated onto a suite of services better catered for their use cases, engineering re-gained velocity, and a deep personal satisfaction in seeing a service developers hated finally get turned off.
